Las Terrenas and its area

Junction between the peninsula of Samana at the east, and the Northern coast stretching itself from Nagua to Puerto Plata at the West, Las Terrenas develops the wild beaches most seductive of the country.

Bottom of a Cordillera peaking to 605 m, where the panorama extends as far as the eye can see on the ocean on a side and the imposing bay of Samana from the other, Las Terrenas is a confidential harbour lost in the coconuts.

Tourism develops there harmoniously, and does not deteriorate the established osmosis of long standing between the autochtones and the many various foreign communities settled in the country ( composed mainly of French, Germans and Italians increasing each year.)

Las terrenas can be joined by the new international airport “ El Catey” since December 2006 . It is also the final destination of the freeway, straight from the capital Santo Domingo in less than one hour,
